ABOUT GUY OLIVIER

Guy Olivier draws inspiration from human encounters, festive evenings, restaurants, music and the Burgundian lifestyle. His art celebrates life, but also shows the vanity, vulnerability and peculiarities of man.
His figures seem to be part of a bigger story. With humour, exaggeration and imagination, Olivier creates scenes that feel recognisable and imaginative at the same time.

STYLE AND TECHNIQUE

Olivier combines different materials and techniques on canvas and paper. It works with powerful brush strokes, paint directly from the tube, stencils, drawing-like lines and layered colour areas.

His style moves between figurative art, expressionism and free abstraction. Fast gestures, vivid colours and moving contours give energy to any work, while the careful composition makes his technical mastery visible.

INTERNATIONAL CAREER

Guy Olivier exhibited in the Netherlands and abroad. His work was presented in Maastricht, Liège, Amsterdam and New York, among others.
The international appeal of his art lies in the universal themes: pleasure, desire, human relationships and lust for life. With his pronounced visual language, Olivier reaches galleries, art lovers and collectors at home and abroad.
